The cost of a level 2 chimney inspection depends on:
1. What equipment needs to be inspected? In addition to your chimney, the inspector can also look at your stove and insert pipes for an extra cost.
2. Video inspections. A camera is sometimes used in a level 2 inspection. If not needed, it may be a little less expensive.
3. More than one chimney. Inspecting multiple chimneys will add to the overall cost of the job.
4. Necessary repairs or cleaning. These are not included in the estimated cost we have provided. If any issues are discovered during the inspection, you will responsible for the cost of the necessary repairs and replacement parts.
5. Where you live. It may cost a little more or less depending on the going rate for chimney inspections in your area.
It is common to get a chimney inspection done once a year if you use your fireplace regularly. A level 2 inspection may be needed if you just bought a house, if you’re changing your fuel type, or if you think there may be minor damages to your chimney that you want to get checked out.
